Another day, another update coming out of Facebook. In late October, Facebook's camp rolled out some new and very improved updates to their Pages platform for business use. Pages that are visited by more than one billion people every month have access to these features that are being tested before becoming public to the remainder of the Facebook community. The increasing shift to mobile by consumers is what drove these improvements to launch. Facebook wants to help business Pages see better results through improved features for users on mobile. So what does this mean for your brand?

An Enhanced Focus on Local Business Interactions

According to think with Google, 40% of online smartphone users will be less likely to come back to a mobile site or app if it does not quickly satisfy their needs. Worry no longer with the new Pages enhancements. Now brands can offer users faster ways to take action through revamped calls-to-action (CTA) that are seamlessly integrated within your Pages' interface. Facebook users now can:

  • Get a quote
  • Request an appointment
  • Get tickets to a movie or an event
  • Order food

Facebook has partnered with multiple platforms to help integrate these new CTAs into the user experience. HomeAdvisor, MyTime, Eventbrite, Ticketmaster, and Fandango are among some of the third-party services that business Pages can connect with. Not connected to one of these affiliated sites? No worries! You can manage your bookings and inquiries through Messenger for real-time connections with customers.

Get Your Business Recommended by a Friend

82% of people say they seek recommendations from friends and family when considering a purchase.  Another component of Facebook's new update is an optimized friend recommendation feature. When someone posts about wanting a recommendation for a restaurant or hotel, their friends can now link a relevant business Page in the comments. Not only will this display an easy way for people to discover your Page, it will also share local information, like your location on a map, so you can be easily found. Local search marketing should be a vital component of every brand's online marketing strategy and now Facebook is enabling businesses to have an extension of that where it's reaching consumers the most.

Integrate Your Branding onto Your Business Page

One of the most exciting new features of this update is the ability for businesses to have their developers customize the look and feel of their Page CTAs to be consistent with their website through webviews or native components. Developers can now test out different calls-to-action with colors and fonts that are customized to your brand’s unique style and look.
